Baxter International is a healthcare company that does business in the following segments renal, the acute therapies, medication delivery, nutrition, pharmaceuticals, advanced surgery, and the contract manufacturing segment. The company has a fairly diversified portfolio of products that treats kidney, immune, and a whole range of other medical conditions. Healthcare stocks are in trend at the moment and Baxter has the scale, pricing power, and an extensive product line to compete effectively. Its long-term prospects look bright.
The long-term monthly chart for Baxter International shows a steady uptrend that began sometime in the second half of 2015. The trend reached its peak of $96 in late 2019 and early 2020. Since then, the stock fell by more than 20% before finding support around the $75 level. In December, the stock reversed from not only the $75 level but also the bottom of the long-term trend. The likely target price is now estimated to be around $90-92. A stop-loss can be placed below the low of December, somewhere near $73-74.
